Rewati Karki

Born in Sindhupalchok, Rewati Karki was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (Spastic Type) soon after birth; and dyslexia, a learning disability- a little later. She is well aware of her disabilities but does not use them as an excuse. Currently, she is a final year student of Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree. Her aim is to make life meaningful and bring the most out of it. She wants to enlighten the world about the hardship that a disabled person has to go through right from their childhood; the day-to-day discrimination and behavior of indignity coming from not just his/her extended family, but the society at large. The thing that she does not like it when someone gives her a look of pity. She prefers to call herself ‘disabled’ rather than ‘differently abled’.

Rewati has her own YouTube channel and a blog page where she freely expresses her opinions. She is currently volunteering as the vice-president of Shiksha Nepal and is also involved with Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation/Radha Paudel Foundation, where she is also doing her thesis paper.
